The "Gospel" is the Good News about Jesus. It's a message from God that we can't afford to ignore!
God, our good, wise and loving Creator, made us in His image to glorify and enjoy Him.
“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.” -Revelation 4.11
But we have all sinned and rejected God and His authority.
“…all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” -Romans 3.23
Because of our rebellion against God we deserve His holy judgement. But because of His mercy, God offers salvation through Jesus Christ.
“…the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” -Romans 6.23
Jesus, God’s Son and our only hope for salvation, lived a perfect life of obedience to His Father and then died on a cross to take the judgement we deserve.
“…God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” -Romans 5.8
But it was impossible for death and the grave to contain the Lord of life and on the third day, Jesus rose from the dead, never to die again.
“But God raised him from the dead” -Acts 13.30
Now, as the risen and reigning Lord of the universe, Jesus offers forgiveness of sin and eternal life to all who repent and believe in Him – that means turning away from our sinful rebellion, and relying on Jesus alone to bring us back to God.
"...if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
